Interview with
Anne denys
SHEY SAINTS - AUG 15, 2022
Who is Anne Denys?
I am a late bloomer and started writing this nonfiction book on creating Abundance after I went through the experience of losing my job, my home and had to deal with all the stuff around it. In the past I have written some poetry and kept a journal, but it was purely for personal insight. This time was different since I wanted to share my story to others of us going through hardships and a rollercoaster of changes. It helped me digest the experience. Now I can laugh with the whole event I went through. It is just part of my path.
When did you first realize you want to be a writer?
Not until I had some good ideas in my head. I had been thinking about the idea for six months. Once I had a clear vision and I knew this was a next step for my growth process. For me it was more the question if I wanted to come out of the closet with this story or not? It goes with ups and downs but at the end, the feeling was very strongly positive so yes, I am a writer.

Damilare Olayiwola31 May 2023 Great Book After reading Anne Denys' book, which touches on so many facets of life, I feel motivated. Denys opens up a lot about her background while encouraging her readers to be optimistic and make positive changes in a variety of areas, including finances, health, generosity, healing, and so on.I Highly Recommend this book !!! Julie S. Porter13 September 2022 Good advice dark times when scarcity and division, a book like Anne Denys' Creating Abundance and Living Generously is what is needed. It suggests that a person can get through life by being abundant with kindness and generosity. It opens up topics of collaboration, trust, being in the flow, and giving. Many of these tips are suggested to make a better, healthier, and happier work and lifestyle. For example, in workplaces where collaboration is key, people are less stressed about losing their jobs, keep away from the flight or fight response, share and brainstorm with peers more willingly, feel at ease and are motivated to come to work.Denys uses personal examples from her life and others to demonstrate her points. While discussing the idea of flow psychology, she discusses the man who introduced the concept, Mihaly Csiskzentmilhalyi. A former prisoner during WWII, Csiskzentmilhalyi observed much pain and suffering. After the war, he studied the work of Carl Jung and psychology. He became a pioneer on positive psychology and happiness research. He described being in the flow as "being involved in an activity for its own sake."Denys also writes about her own struggles and how they contributed to her own realization of her self-worth. A childhood with a hardworking father, a spoiled mother, competitive siblings, and constant infighting gave her limited self beliefs. By the time she was in high school, she had the urge to leave and make something of herself. However, she kept having negative critical thoughts. She had to learn where those thoughts came from and how they impacted her life. In writing this book, Denys is helping Readers with their own issues and self doubt as well as her own. Reign Goddess30 August 2022 Creating Abundance and Living Generously Contemporary issues such as the global economic recession, the war between Ukraine and Russia, and living in contentment have all affected our daily lives to a large extent. Whether it is within ourselves or around us, we face these issues on a daily basis that we often ignore until they become too much to bear. “Creating Abundance and Living Generously” by Anne Denys addresses these issues which affect the world today in an analytical and accessible way. Anne foregrounds issues that affect modern societies, such as corporate competition, finances and career, and living in contentment, among others. She aims to provide a positive overview of what the future might hold for both individuals and society as a whole.Specifically, I enjoyed chapter 3, which discusses the different types of people who are in the flow and how their mindset affects motivation, productivity, and output. An important aspect of this chapter is the concept of flow, which explains how every individual knows what is best for them. When I read this chapter, I realized that sometimes what seems like a negative situation, such as job loss or financial struggle, actually has a positive outcome. This chapter helped me understand the importance of finding a way to balance my work life and personal life. For those who have not been able to find such a balance, this chapter can help better understand why it is hard for many people to do so.The author uses the first-person point of view to engage the reader in a close and personal discussion. By relating her own experiences and thoughts, Anne creates a realistic dialogue between herself and her readers. She also uses this perspective as a powerful tool for creating immediacy and emotional connection with her readers. Writing in the first person makes her vulnerable and open to the reader's scrutiny of her thoughts, beliefs, and feelings. She shares her innermost thoughts and feelings with her readers, creating a sense of intimacy. This allows the reader to see things from Anne’s point of view, which helps them identify with her experience.Anne's inclusion of real-life examples from other people reinforces the authenticity of this book. At the same time, she's careful not to over-generalize from these examples. Instead, she uses these stories to reinforce what she's already said about our own lives: it matters how we choose to think about things. The book is also very engaging and readable. Anne uses a conversational tone that makes it easy for readers to relate to her ideas. She obviously did her research and was careful not to come across as an academic or someone who's trying to impress anyone with how much they know. The book is very much about the power of the mind and how it can be used to create a better life for ourselves. This is especially important for those who feel stuck in their lives, as Anne does in her own story. We can choose to think about our lives positively, or we can choose to think negatively. The more we practice thinking positively, the easier it becomes. The intertextuality of this book would not be complete without the inclusion of quotes from notable individuals worldwide, such as Mother Teresa, Lao Tzu, Oprah Winfrey, and Robert Kiyosaki, among others. The author has included a list of referral links at the end of her book that can act as great resources for readers interested in furthering their knowledge of the arguments she has raised. I’m positive that the book merits the maximum rating of five stars. I would recommend it to readers constantly pursuing what “True Living” entails. Amazon Customer18 August 2022 Inspirational work about positive transformation I feel inspired after reading Anne Denys’s book addressing so many aspects of life. Denys shares a lot about her own past while instilling positivity and challenging her readers to make positive changes in different areas—finances, health, generosity, healing…the list goes on. But the author provides real-life advice based on her own experiences that can apply to almost any challenge you are facing. I found her voice to be sensible, compassionate, and wise, and I enjoyed reading the book from cover to cover. Reading Creating Abundance and Living Generously has inspired me to take a second look at many things about my own life in order to make positive and healthy changes. I highly recommend this read! Haleigh Rucinski18 August 2022 A Truly Global Guide to Finding Happiness “Creating Abundance and Living Generously” is a book written to help people escape the bonds of the norm and societal expectations by learning how to live without the constraints of excess consumerism. Author Anne Denys argues that when we think we need something (be it material things or even less tangible things like wealth, power, and success) and strive for those things, we neglect what is truly good for us. Those things can be nutrition, health, rest, relationships, and the act of finding our true purpose in life. Denys provides numerous examples of how consumerism and the need for more has damaged our society and our earth. I found the range of her examples to be particularly compelling. Denys easily adds a global feel to her book by providing illustrative stories and concepts from around the world—from inspiring quotes by Indian and Chinese philosophers, to examples of the ills of consumerism in South America and the Philippines, to research studies based out of Australia. Everyone will be able to see themselves in this book, making it a universal guide to all readers. Kathy15 August 2022 An excellent resource to help regain control of your own destiny Anne Denys has detailed a well-researched plan to help people dig themselves out of a rut. If you feel powerless, crushed, alone, and anxious over current events and want to work to feel more free, this is a must-read book for you. Workplace changes, self-examination and personal growth, physical and financial health—these philosophies are all discussed in relatable language for any layperson. There is no magic bullet for everyone, but as you read through the book, you’ll be able to find the pieces that relate to your own situation, small personal changes that can have a big impact on those around you, even complete strangers! Amazon Customer11 August 2022 A game changer, for sure! To use Anne’s own words, this book is a “game changer” for anyone wanting to minimize excess in their lives. She emphasizes the importance of living abundantly as the opposite of living with scarcity, which she defines as “living every day with the idea that we must scramble to get ours before it is gone.” How true that is! Our all-work-and-no-play days? Where are they really getting us? They give us money to buy THINGS, but what if we just let those things go and focused on the intangibles, like family, spirituality, or the beauty of nature?Something I found liberating and unique about her sentiments is that she doesn’t expect you just to take her word for it. This is not a “do as I say” book. Anne offers guidance but expects YOU to go out and experience these concepts for yourself. This book is well worth your time! Laura A.8 August 2022 Create a little slice of heaven in your life with the help of this book... As a yoga teacher, I spend a lot of time reading other peoples' stories about how to live authentically and with an aware core spirit of peace and joy. The common thread throughout everyone's journey seems to be this: It's not easy to walk your truest path, but it is possible. This book by Ms. Denys highlights so many ancient and spiritual approaches to living well without sounding preachy or above it all. She's a true testament of an inner job well done.In other words, Ms. Denys is an author who has walked the walk, turned inward to question her own belief systems, and embraced a life of abundance through staying true to her lessons learned. CREATING ABUNDANCE AND LIVING GENEROUSLY is an inspiring read with a lot of good historical insight, along with hard-hitting questions that she asks readers to explore alongside her. I found myself smiling at the amount of unnamed yoga philosophy that runs through these pages. She speaks of compassion, self-care, self-love, living honestly, being content no matter if you have everything you want, owning your truth, etc. This self-help book is more like a gentle holding of the hand as we examine our own lives. There's a warmth to her words, alongside a spirit of true support. This is a book for anyone who is ready to turn their ordinary lives into extraordinary journeys of abundant possibility.I feel the weight of the work I've put in through her help, and the lightness in knowing I am closer to the life I am meant to live. THANK YOU for this book, Anne. I highly recommend it.Amazon rating score: 4.7 of 5, based on 8 reviews
